History and IncorporationThe clinic has a long history and is well known across the district. It was founded by Dr. Sam Kampondeni, Consultant Radiologist, in 1998 and was under operation under the name Dr. Kampondenis clinic until 2012. The clinic was renamed as Royal Medical Center thereafter and has remained under the name since 2013.
Dr. Kalongolera, General Surgeon, was invited to join the clinic by Dr. Kampondeni in 2013 when new services were being introduced in addition to the radiological services previously provided. This joint venture had proven to be a great success with Dr. Kalongolera contributing to 40% of the clinics total revenue since then.
In the year 2019 Dr. Kampondeni had established a new radiology clinic in order to provide additional radiological services that required equipment which couldn’t be accommodated at Royal Medical Center due to space restrictions. The clinic was thereafter handed over to Dr. Kalongolera along with the clinic property and equipment on lease. All business accounts have been handed over to the current owner of the brand name Dr. Lughano Kalongolera.
Effective takeover, the business has been converted to a private limited liability company effective 13th December 2019. It was incorporated under registration certificate number TMBR51011212 as a private limited company and trades under the name Royal Medical Center.

from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. He has also He has a MMED in General Surgery from Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (formerly College of Medicine), a Postgraduate Diploma in Essential Surgical
Sciences from Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and MBBS from University of Malawi with credits in surgery, medicine, obstetrics and gynecology.

years of experience as a Tutor, General Surgeon and Endoscopist having worked with University of Edinburgh, University of Malawi, Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital and Malawi Defence Force. Prior
to taking over Royal Medical Center, he has been working with the Clinic as a General Surgeon and Endoscopist as well as Regimental Medical office for Cobbe Barracks Camp Hospital of the Malawi Defence

He is a medical doctor who specialize in clinical pathology. He mainly treats lifestyle diseases like diabetes, cancer, high blood pressure, endocrinological disorders just to mention a few. He
has over 16 years work experience with the University of Malawi College of Medicine. He holds an MBBS (Mw). He is a Fellow of the College of Clinical Pathologist in South Africa.

Institute of Bankers in Malawi and Naming’omba Tea Estates. He is a freelance Finance and Accounting Consultant.
She is a Medical Doctor registered with the Medical Council of Malawi under the register of Medical Practitioners since 2020. Dr. Perera is also Registered Doctor with the General Medical Council
of United Kingdom under the same name since September, 2021. She is an MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) graduate of Tianjin Medical University, China.
She is a business studies Diplomate graduate of the London Chambers of Commerce and Industry. Miss Kamphandule has been the Clinic Manager for Mpingwe since 2000.
Mphatso is a holder of a Bachelors Degree in Business from University of East Africa –Baraton. She is an experienced finance and accounting manager having worked for 7 years with NBS Bank in
various supervisory positions.
